Canada’s women’s soccer league has a name.
It will be called the Northern Super League, and feature six teams.
Montreal and Ottawa are joining already announced teams in Halifax, Toronto, Vancouver and Calgary.
Initially named ‘Project 8,’ the league says their main pillars are inclusion, community and identity.
The name and logo were unveiled at the espnW Summit Canada by founder and former Canadian soccer star Diana Matheson.
Play is expected to begin next April.
