A New Brunswick man will be inducted into the Order of Canada this week.
Agronomist Louis-Philippe Albert will receive the honour on Thursday from Governor General Mary Simon.
He spent 30 years in the federal and provincial service, involved in projects in the agricultural industry.
Albert has strongly advocated for bilingualism-supporting initiatives including creating the Agricultural Alliance of New Brunswick, and the Sainte-Anne Community Centre.
Albert will be the only New Brunswicker among the 13 Officers (O.C.) and 52 Members (C.M.) to be appointed at the ceremonies on May 2 in Ottawa.
The Order of Canada is one of our country’s highest honours.
