Superhero fans have a chance to own a piece of comic book history.
The Comic Hunter in Moncton has a copy of Amazing Fantasy #15, the comic book that introduced Spider-Man.
The general manager of the store, Remi Vienneau LeClair, bought the comic book from a local collector.
“He’s had the comic book for a while just to say he owned it. He didn’t look like someone who was an original buyer, but he’s been collecting since he was young and took good care of his comics,” said Vienneau LeClair.
The Comic Hunter is now selling the comic book for $60,000. It will keep it hidden away for the right buyer.
“It’s hidden away, and it’s for serious buyers only, and if someone wants to see it they need to call ahead,” said Vienneau LeClair.
Amazing Fantasy #15 was published in August 1962 and cost 12 cents.
In 2021, the same comic book in better condition sold for $3.25 million, becoming the most expensive Marvel comic book ever sold.
