Officials from Irving Nature Park have confirmed that the Children’s Forest is back open.
It was closed after a bear was spotted in the area over the weekend.
Officials mention the bear was spotted on Sunday, and out of an abundance of caution the area had to close and visitors were asked to avoid the area.
The province’s Department of Natural Resources was also contacted.
On Monday evening, police shot and killed a bear that was roaming through residential properties in the Amy Crescent area.
Police said they had no choice but to put the bear down after it advanced toward officers.
It is unclear if it was the same bear that was spotted at the Children’s Forest.
