COVID Outbreak At Seniors’ Apartment Building

A COVID-19 outbreak has been confirmed at one of Loch Lomond Villa’s three independent living apartment buildings in Saint John.

The organization said Friday that the outbreak affects The Crossing on Loch Lomond Road, which is closed to visitors.

CEO Cindy Donovan said they did not have a confirmed number of cases as of Friday evening.

“All tenants living in this apartment building have been tested immediately,” Donovan said in an email to our newsroom.

Donovan said their two other apartment buildings on Ellerdale Street, The Cornerstone and The Milestone, are closed to visitors as a precaution.

Residents in those two buildings are also being told to maintain their household bubble until further notice.

Donovan noted that the outbreak is not affecting The Villa or The Village, the organization’s two nursing homes on Loch Lomond Road.
