Voters in the Edmundston-Madawaska region head to polls on Tuesday and all New Brunswickers will find out who will make up municipal councils around the province.
Elections New Brunswick will start uploading data from the tabulation machines in preparation for the release of provincewide results at 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Tabulation machines will contain the ballots for everyone who voted on May 10.
The process of uploading results will start at 9 a.m. and continue until all data files have been uploaded.
It will be supervised by the municipal electoral officer and the province’s integrity commissioner, and be livestreamed online to allow candidates and scrutineers to observe.
“We are doing what we can under the unique circumstances of the pandemic and the requirements for social distancing to provide candidates, as well as any interested citizens, virtual and transparent access to the process they would have traditionally been able to watch in person,” said Municipal Electoral Officer Kim Poffenroth.
When polling stations close in the Edmundston-Madawaska region, all results will be posted on Elections New Brunswick’s website.
