A third resident at Parkland Saint John has died amid a COVID-19 outbreak at the facility.
In a statement Wednesday, Shannex said the individual was a resident of Lily Court at the Tucker Hall nursing home.
Public Health said the resident, who was in their 70s, died “as a result of underlying complications, including COVID-19.”
On Tuesday, Shannex announced the deaths of two other Lily Court residents who had previously tested positive for the virus.
“This has been a tragic time for everyone at Tucker Hall, especially for the families of those we have lost,” Derek Green, vice-president of New Brunswick operations for Shannex, said in a news release.
“We were privileged to be part of their lives. Each of them was a special member of our community and we will feel their loss greatly.”
Meanwhile, Shannex said three new resident cases and one additional employee case were identified at Tucker Hall following testing on Monday.
There are now 25 active cases at the nursing home, including 14 residents and 11 employees.
