The City of Saint John is putting its flowerbeds up for adoption in order to cope with COVID-19 costs.
Any flowerbed adopters are responsible for all the planting, maintenance, watering and end of season cleanup for the summer season, including the purchase of supplies.
The city has temporarily suspended funding for annual planting and is following the lead of other cities by offering residents, businesses and clubs the chance to use the flowerbeds.
All planting plans must be approved by the City’s Landscape Maintenance Service prior to planting.
End-of-season cleanup of the flowerbeds is recommended to be completed before mid-October.
Interested residents are asked to contact the city’s parks department at parks@saintjohn.ca.
