Folks in the Capital region with a little time on their hands are needed to help clean up the Nature Conservancy clean up a wildlife habitat.
Kathryn Morse is the Atlantic Communications Director for the NCC and she tells us the cleanup on Saturday is at the Lincoln wetland.
“Which is a beautiful nature reserve not too far from Fredericton on the Saint John River, not only a beautiful wildlife habitat with many bird species there but it also has rare old butternut trees which are an endangered tree now in New Brunswick,” Morse said.
She explains why the cleanup is necessary.
“After the spring flooding, it tends to accumulate debris, plastics and other types of garbage. We need to go in and clean that out and we’d love to have a few extra hands on Saturday to make it lighter work.” Morse said.
All the supplies needed will be provided and Morse says they only helpers for a few hours on Saturday morning.
