Following classroom inclusion, the New Brunswick Teachers Association says another big issue facing teachers and students are mental health issues.
School districts have been struggling to find and keep psychologists in recent years.
NBTA president George Daley says students are not prepared to be in the classroom if they’re not getting the mental health support they need.
“Teachers are facing very difficult days when they deal with students who are in unhealthy positions that are struggling on a day to day basis.”

If students are in crisis, Daley adds teachers must respond.
He adds if teachers don’t have access to the necessary services to help those children that puts educators in difficult positions.
