Tragedy on the water over the weekend with the death of a man on Seven Mile Lake near Lepreau.
Crews at the Musquash Fire Department responded to an emergency call about an overturned boat on Saturday just after 4 pm.
Firefighters at the scene determined the boat with two men inside capsized while taking part in an organized fishing tournament.
One man was able to swim to shore, however, the other man could not be found.
The lake’s remote location combined with only dirt road access resulted in a request for mutual aid.
Help was provided by the St. George fire department, the RCMP, Public Safety and Charlotte County Ground Search and Rescue.
Three different boats were deployed with the lake and shoreline searched until dark on Saturday.
The search resumed Sunday morning and the victim’s body was recovered by the RCMP dive team in the early afternoon.
