Two of Saint John’s business leaders are getting a big honour from the Rotary Club.
Arthur Irving of Irving Oil and Glenn Cooke of Cooke Aquaculture will receive the prestigious Paul Harris Fellowship.
Irving has a strong interest in wetlands preservation and served for 30 years on the Ducks Unlimited board of directors.
He and his wife, Sandra, are strong supporters of student scholarships at universities in Atlantic Canada and New England.
Based in Saint John, Irving Oil has more than 4,000 employees and recently celebrated the completion of its new home office on King Square.
Cooke is the CEO of Cooke Aquaculture, a family-owned salmon farming company established by Cooke, his brother and father in 1985.
For the 14th year in a row, Cooke Aquaculture has been named one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies.
The Rotary Gala is coming up on May 24 at the Delta Marriot.
