A little Friday afternoon excitement at the City Market when a spray of some kind forced the entire building to be evacuated.
Sgt. Steve Wilson of the Saint John Police tells us they are looking into the incident and reviewing surveillance video.
He said the spray was some form of repellent but he can’t confirm what it was.
One employee told us it seemed like pepper spray because it caused him to choke and cough.
The incident occurred about 2:45pm on Friday and the City Market was evacuated for about 30 minutes.
