Christine Evans, President and CEO at Key Industries, says they plan to expand existing employment programs in the new space. We asked about one of the existing business there now, a laundromat.
“We are talking about how to expand that as a new social enterprise. Right now we have no plans to remove it plus, it’s meeting a need in the community. There are no laundromats right in the South end area,” Evans says.
MP Long, Premier Gallant and MLA Doherty all received a rockstar welcome from the clients at Key Industries.
It has grown since 1974 to include 120 staff and 600 clients.
