Jennifer Vienneau works for the provincial chapter in Fredericton and she tells us on September 21, which is also World Alzheimer’s Day, you are encouraged to host a coffee break event for the Alzheimer’s Society adding it’s very easy to contribute to the cause.
Vienneau tells us 17,000 people in this province are impacted by Alzheimer’s.
She says they are trying to do something and be proactive since the numbers are expected to rise substantially as every goes by.
As an example, Vienneau says they started with a few Memory cafes and now they are up to 15.
Coffee break events in 2016 broughgt in $5000 last year in this province and across the country they raised over a million dollars.
