All three levels of government communicating well is crucial in working towards lowering the child poverty rate in Saint John.
That from Minister of Families and Children Stephen Horsman.
Horsman says the federal, provincial and municipal governments are all working together towards lowering the child poverty rate in Saint John.
He says communication between all levels of government is better now than it ever has been.
Horsman says when we look back twenty years from now and ask what this government accomplished, one of the major highlights will be free post secondary education through the tab program.
He says the program allows young people to help themselves by going to university and getting better jobs, which will ultimately stimulate the economy as well.
Horsman says it’s not just the government that needs to play a role in lowering the child poverty rate, but everyone from businesses to various social events.
