The Saint John police officer in charge of the forensic identification section confirming under cross-examination by the defence that he didn’t receive any information that blood or DNA belonging to Dennis Oland was found on Richard Oland’s body or at the crime scene at 52 Canterbury Street in uptown Saint John.
Sergeant Mark Smith also agreeing with defence lawyer Gary Miller that he did not receive any information that there was Richard’s blood or DNA on the shoes, pants, shorts, garbage pail and cell phone seized from Dennis Oland’s home on July 14, 2011 – a week after Richard’s body was discovered in his office.
And that he didn’t receive any information that there was Richard’s blood or DNA on or in Dennis’ vehicle or the resuable grocery bag that was seized.
That testimony on day 14 of the second-degree murder trial of Dennis Oland in the death of his father. 65 days have been set aside for this trial.
