Saint John Mayor Don Darling says a lot of people are getting fed up with the explosions and other incidents at the American Iron and Metal recycling facility on the west side.
The latest one happening on Monday morning.
After the council meeting, the Mayor stated he doesn’t think AIM is following the rules set out by the Port of Saint John.
“There are a number of areas where we believe they are not in compliance with that approval to operate and we are really saying enough is enough and we need the provincial government and the federal government or the Port Authority to act,” stated Darling.
Darling explains why he is frustrated.
“I understand the Port after the 8:40 AM Monday event asked AIM to stop operating and AIM refused to stop operating.”
