Thousands of police officers and other first responders are expected in Fredericton for Saturday’s procession and regimental funeral for slain Constables Sara Burns and Robb Costello.
They are expected to come from across Canada and the eastern United States.
Deputy Chief Martin Gaudet acknowledges the sombre mood right now but he says crisis brings us closer together.
“They are difficult times, Fredericton police force has had difficult times over the last few years but they pale in comparison to what we will live in the next few months, together we are strong,” Gaudet says.
Gaudet says they will get through this adding it’s what Sara and Robb would want.
A second public viewing location for the funeral will be set up at Hope City Church on the north side.
