One Rothesay parent is frustrated by the bad behavior of other adults at minor hockey games.
Tiffany Mackay French took to Facebook on the weekend and her post got a strong reaction with many offering supportive comments.
It happened at her 11 year old son Jack Donohue’s final game of the season and she jokes the stakes were high as the team was up by 2 goals.
Mackay French says there was sudden movement to her left as a man came barrelling down the bleachers.
“He leapt from the bottom bleacher at the Quispamis area and grabbed onto the glass at the top so he’s up in the air just screaming at the refs for a call they made.”
She says the referrees on the ice were oblivious and she points out the refs on Saturday likely ranged in age from 12 to 15.
Despite this behavior, she says her kids still love playing hockey and it doesn’t impact their enjoyment or desire to play.
“I think the competition level of the parents needs to be brought down a notch”.
She says the only time the subject of parent behaviour comes up is during the first meeting before the start of the season where the coach sets the tone for the season.
