A sure sign that spring has arrived — construction on Saint John’s Harbour Bridge returns on Monday.
The work and closures are part of a multi-year rehabilitation project that began back in 2021.
Both eastbound lanes will be closed during this year’s construction, along with the ramps to and from Chesley Drive.
Westbound lanes on the bridge will remain open, with one lane of traffic in each direction, said officials.
All four lanes are expected to re-open in late October while the ramps will be closed until late November.
Construction is expected to continue through 2027 though lane closures are not anticipated after this season.
There will be changes to a couple of Saint John Transit routes as a result of the ramp closures on the bridge.
