The long-time president of university sports in the Maritimes is stepping down.
Phil Currie will remain in the role as Atlantic University Sport president and CEO until April 30.
The organization says Currie is leaving them on solid ground, and poised for future growth.
He spent 26 years with the organiztion, joining as executive director.
In a statement, he says he was fortunate to work with colleagues, community leaders and business associates who have become close friends.
Currie has helped grow the AUS to a $1.2 million budget annually.
Currie’s final AUS basketball championship is this weekend at Scotiabank Centre in Halifax.
A search for his replacement will begin in May.
