Two employees suffered non-life-threatening injuries after a convenience store robbery in Saint John’s south end.
Police said a masked man entered a store at the corner of St. James Street and Sydney Street around 10 p.m. Saturday.
In a news release on Monday, police allege the suspect assaulted an employee with a weapon and tried to steal merchandise.
“The suspect and two employees were involved in an altercation and the suspect fled on foot towards Queen Square South,” said the release.
Both employees were taken to the hospital to be treated for their injuries, according to police.
The suspect is described as possibly being in his 30s, about five-foot-eight, dressed in a black hoodie and a black ski mask.
Detectives are appealing for witnesses or anyone in the area that may have video footage of the suspect before, during or after the robbery.
