The swearing-in of New Brunswick’s latest MLAs and cabinet ministers will take place on Saturday, Nov. 2.
Premier-designate Susan Holt has also announced a transition team as she prepares to be sworn in as premier.
The team includes chief of staff Kelly Cain, public policy expert Katie Davey, lawyer Len Hoyt and former MLA Serge Rousselle.
“New Brunswickers have given us a clear message: it is time to get to work,” Susan Holt said in a news release on Wednesday.
“The transition team has the expertise and experience in various sectors to ensure an efficient transition, especially around governance and policy objectives.”
Cain is a longtime provincial civil servant who has served as deputy minister of tourism, heritage and culture; human resources; transportation and infrastructure; and intergovernmental affairs.
She has been the chief of staff in the Office of the Official Opposition since January.
Davey is the executive director of the Pond-Deshpande Centre and formerly a director of policy and media at the Public Policy Forum in Ottawa.
Hoyt is the lead partner at McInnes Cooper’s Fredericton office and a former chair of the law firm’s board of directors,
He has served on two previous transition teams and as an executive lead of the strategic program review, which preceded the province’s finances returning to surplus in 2017-18.
Rousselle is a professor of law at l’Université de Moncton and a constitutional expert.
