The Codiac Regional RCMP is asking the public for assistance in locating 29-year-old Riley Smith, who is currently wanted on a warrant of arrest for robbery.
Smith is wanted in connection with an incident that took place on October 6, 2024, at approximately 7 p.m., when police responded to a two-vehicle collision near the junction of Hwy 2 and Hwy 15 in Moncton, N.B.
According to authorities, the driver of one of the vehicles, later identified as Smith, fled the scene after brandishing a firearm toward police officers.
Smith then allegedly stole another vehicle from a bystander at a nearby business before escaping the area. The vehicle was subsequently recovered in the Harrisville Boulevard area, but police have not yet been able to locate Smith.
Riley Smith is described as approximately five feet six inches (168 centimetres) tall, weighing around 170 pounds (77 kilograms), with hazel eyes and brown hair. He is known to police and is considered armed and dangerous. The public is advised not to approach him.
Anyone who sees Riley Smith or has information on his whereabouts is urged to call 911 immediately.
