Saint John will be filled with LGBTQ+ activities for the annual pride celebrations.
Events began Friday with the ceremonial raising of the pride flag at City Hall.
Mayor Donna Reardon emphasizes that raising the flag is a tribute to the hardships and sacrifices faced, calling it a symbol of Saint John’s commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.
Several events are planned between now and Aug. 18, including the 21st annual Saint John Pride Parade on Aug. 17.
The parade will begin at 2 p.m. from Smythe Street to Water Street and end at the waterfront container village.
