New Brunswick social workers are among several groups of employees to vote in favour of a new collective agreement.
The provincial government announced the voting results of CUPE Local 1418 in a news release on Friday.
“As a government, we value the important work the social workers (including child protection), probation and parole officers, clinical psychologists and human resource development officers do every day,” Finance Minister Ernie Steeves said in the release.
“We are very pleased that the tentative agreement has now been officially ratified.”
The union represents around 1,000 social workers, probation and parole officers, clinical psychologists and human resource development officers.
The province said further details will be shared once the agreement has been officially signed.
