“We are thrilled to partner with the provincial government to support additional school nutrition programs again this year, particularly in northern areas where need has been identified,” said Food Depot Alimentaire executive director Stéphane Sirois.

The contract with Food Depot Alimentaire runs until March 31, 2024. The department will work to ensure healthy foods are available in schools until the end of the academic year.

“We know students who find it difficult to learn on an empty stomach, and that is why we made a promise to ensure a food program is available in every school in New Brunswick,” said Education and Early Childhood Development Minister Bill Hogan.
