Environment Canada says a rainfall warning that had been in place for most of the province has ended.
The warning was issued late Sunday afternoon for northwestern and most of central and southern New Brunswick.
At the time, forecasters were calling for between 40 and 70 millimetres of rain by Monday afternoon.
“Because of the warm and humid air mass that is in place, embedded areas of torrential rain are occurring, with rainfall rates in excess of 30 mm per hour possible,” the weather agency said in a statement.
