The 10-day boil water advisory in St. Stephen has finally come to an end, officials announced Friday.
“Public Health has advised that they have completed all necessary testing,” the municipality said in a statement.
It comes as welcome news for residents and businesses who have been forced to boil their water for more than a week.
The advisory was first issued last Wednesday after the municipality’s automated system indicated an “irregularity” in its water supply.
Officials initially thought they would be able to lift the advisory earlier this week, depending on the results of testing.
However, the municipality said it underestimated the time it would take for those results to come back.
Public Health has advised that they have completed all necessary testing and as a result the BOIL WATER ADVISORY has been rescinded IMMEDIATELY. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
