It looks like we are in for a messy end to the week across southern New Brunswick.
Environment Canada is warning of the potential for significant freezing precipitation on Friday.
The national weather agency has issued a special weather statement for the following areas:

- Grand Manan and Coastal Charlotte County

- Oromocto and Sunbury County
- Saint John and County
- St. Stephen and Northern Charlotte County
- Sussex – Kennebecasis Valley and Kings County
“A frontal trough of low pressure will give snow, ice pellets and freezing rain Friday before changing over to snow,” said the statement.
Forecasters said up to four hours of freezing rain is possible over southern New Brunswick, while central regions could see 10 to 15 centimetres of snow.
Meanwhile, a snowfall warning is in place for much of central and northern New Brunswick, including:
- Campbellton and Restigouche County
- Edmundston and Madawaska County
- Grand Falls and Victoria County
- Kent County
- Kouchibouguac National Park
- Miramichi and area
- Mount Carleton – Renous Highway
- Stanley – Doaktown – Blackville Area

Between 15 and 20 centimetres of snow is possible in those areas before it tapers to flurries on Friday evening.
