It was a full weekend of taking photos of nature.
As of the afternoon of August 1st, there had been over 41,300 species observations reported, according to the Nature Conservancy of Canada.
This was during the third annual Backyard BioBlitz. It ran from July 29 to August 1st.
Canadians were asked to submit photos, videos or audio recordings of species in and around their community over the long weekend.
During the event in 2021, more than 35,000 nature observations were recorded and more than 4,200 unique species observations.
