Police have released sketches of two people believed to be involved in an alleged assault and attempted abduction in northern New Brunswick.
Mounties say it happened along Route 180 between Saint-Quentin and Bathurst around 7 p.m. on May 23.
The woman, who was driving toward Bathurst, was flagged down by another woman asking for help to change a tire on a panel van.
“When the driver got out of her car, she was assaulted by two men who tried to pull her into the van,” police said in a news release on Tuesday.
The woman was able to get away from the men and into her own vehicle, where she was pursued by the van for several minutes before it turned around and went back the other way.
Police said the van is described as a white or light grey panel van.
The first suspect is described as a woman with long blonde hair in curls and wearing a long pink jacket. She spoke French and English with no apparent accent.
A second suspect is a man described as having dark hair, dark eyes, and a dark full beard that was approximately one inch long.
A third suspect who was also involved in the incident is described as clean-shaven with dark hair and eyes. A sketch of the man is not available at this time.
“One of the two men is believed to have suffered a serious eye injury in the incident,” said police.
Mounties are looking to speak to anyone who was travelling on Route 180 near Mount Carleton between 4 and 8 p.m. on May 23.
