A former New Brunswick MLA is being remembered as a man who was larger than life.
LeRoy Armstrong passed away on Wednesday at the age of 85, according to his obituary.
“He came into this world in a hard-working environment and spent his entire life with that same work ethic,” said his obituary.
Armstrong started his own transportation company and was one of the founding members of Kingsco Transport.
He entered politics in 1995 when he was elected as the Liberal MLA in the former riding of Kings East.
Armstrong was defeated in the 1999 election before being re-elected for one more term in 2003.
He later went on to run unsuccessfully for the former People’s Alliance party in Sussex-Fundy-St. Martins in 2014.
“He sat on many boards and committees and was always fighting for the little guy against any and all perceived injustices. To use a common phrase for a very uncommon man, Dad was larger than life,” said his obituary.
