The City of Saint John wants to hear from residents on its 10-year Strategic Plan.
It is a plan identifying a renewed vision that will set new long-term goals for the community.
“It will be used to guide all further decisions by council and staff, and coordinate policy development for the City of Saint John,” said Director of Corporate Performance and Chief Information Officer, Stephanie Rackley-Roach.
Through the ‘Shape Your City’ website residents are encouraged to visit the site to provide input.
“It’s a relatively new platform, but there are several projects already up there, and we are hoping through this platform not only for residents to ask questions and get feedback, but also to educate residents on what is in the plan,” mentioned Rackley-Roach.
Residents are encouraged to share their thoughts on what projects and initiatives they want the city to take on.
“To achieve the vision, goals, and objectives that have already been developed as part of the 10-year Strategic Plan … public input will be used to prioritize those initiatives over the next 10-years,” said Rackley-Roach.
On the website, residents have the option to fill out a survey, a quick poll, and provide ideas.
Rackley-Roach added the 10-year Strategic Plan also serves as a management tool to improve the city’s performance and alignment with other plans, such as MoveSJ and PlanSJ.
