With winter coming to an end, golfers will be polishing their clubs for the upcoming season.
The first day of spring is Sunday, March 20.
During a phone interview, the executive director for Golf New Brunswick, Luke Lacey, said the organization will be running a full championship schedule.
“We have 13 events that will be run by Golf New Brunswick throughout the year, starting as early as May 28 and ending up at the early start of October, so looking forward to a full season in 2022,” said Lacey.
Some of the tournaments Golf New Brunswick will be running are the Atlantic Golf Championships in late September and the Service Master NB Golf For The Cure Tournament, which provides significant funds for breast cancer research.
The COVID-19 pandemic has put stress on golf club owners and operators, but Lacey added they are excited for the easing of restrictions and to welcome back out-of-province and out-of-country players.
“We always like to say that there’s a course for everyone, whether it’s within our hardwood forests, or along the sea, we have a course for you here,” he said.
