Dozens of tickets were issued and a number of vehicles were towed during Saturday night’s parking ban in the south/central peninsula.
The City of Saint John declared the temporary overnight parking ban Saturday afternoon following a major winter storm the day prior.
Any vehicles left on the streets between 11 p.m. Saturday and 7 a.m. Sunday were subject to being ticketed and/or towed.
Nathalie Logan, a spokesperson for the city, said 72 tickets were issued and 23 vehicles were owed during the ban.
A similar ban was put in place Friday night for the north, east and west areas of the city.
The city issued 133 tickets during that ban but no vehicles were towed as a result.
Friday’s storm brought about 35 centimetres of snow to Saint John. Strong winds are also caused blowing and drifting snow.
