Saint John police are looking into a complaint after a sex worker was assaulted, thrown into the back of a vehicle, driven to a secluded area and sexually assaulted.
Police say the complaint was received on September 29th and that the incident “appears to be targeted toward women engaged in street work.”
Officers are working closely with local agencies and women in the Waterloo Street area.
The suspect is described as a white man in his late 30s with an athletic build who is naturally bald and speaks aggressively. He is thought to be driving an older sedan with newer silver or grey paint.
“The Saint John Police Force urges people, especially women, not to walk alone at night and always be cognizant of your surroundings,” police said in a news release.
