If you’re planning on travelling this fall or winter, be sure to do some research before you start packing.
Lynn Gaudet, an outside agent with The Travel Store, recently visited the Dominican Republic for the first time since the pandemic began.
Gaudet says she was surprised the plane was nearly full with just a few empty seats although the resort where she stayed was roughly at half-capacity.
“It’s not our normal trips that we’ve had in the past. It’s not as carefree or as happy-go-lucky as we were (pre-COVID). But it is hopeful. It’s kind of giving me hope that things are going towards normal.”
Gaudet notes having a smartphone and being tech-savvy are almost necessities since travel apps were needed and customs forms can often be digital.
“Make sure you have what you need to travel that you know what to expect once you’re there. Be sure to have everything on your phone and make photocopies of any documents – anything you may need.”
