Conservative Rob Moore has been re-elected in the riding of Fundy Royal.
As of 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, Moore had 20,541 votes (48.1 per cent) with 99 per cent of polls reporting.
After several weeks of campaigning, Moore said he will continue to stand up for people in his riding.
“Fight for things they are concerned with, to fight for jobs in our region, and projects that are important for our region, so, I will continue to do that.”
“You know, everyday, hardworking people who are struggling to make ends meet provide for their family, those are the people who I represent, and I look forward to continuing to do that.”
Moore added while on the campaign trail, debates were quite cordial, and said Fundy Royal, “set an example … of how you can debate the issues, and campaign hard, but without tearing each other down.”
Moore went up against NDP Josh Floyd, Tim Thompson of the Green Party, PPC candidate Wayne Wheeler, and Liberal Whitney Dykeman.
Dykeman currently has 10,573 votes (24.7 per cent), Floyd has 6,053 votes (14.2 per cent), Wheeler has 3,339 votes (eight per cent) and Thompson has 2,154 votes (five per cent).
While most of the ballots are expected to be counted Monday night, some of the mail-in ballots will not be counted until Tuesday.
