Two former Saint John Sea Dogs coaches are joining the New York Rangers behind the bench.
Mike Kelly and Jim Midgley were named assistant coaches with the NHL team on Wednesday.
Kelly spent three seasons as director of hockey operations with the Sea Dogs beginning in 2009.
He was then named head coach and general manager in the summer of 2012 before being axed in Oct. 2013.
Since then, he had held assistant coaching positions with the Florida Panthers and Vegas Golden Knights.
Midgley spent two seasons as an assistant coach with the Sea Dogs between 2007 and 2009 before becoming director of hockey operations at Rothesay Netherwood School.
He then returned to the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League in 2011 and spent several seasons as an assistant coach with the Halifax Mooseheads.
