A Saint John Sea Dogs forward was drafted during the 2021 NHL Draft over the weekend.
Cam MacDonald was drafted in the fifth round, 160th overall, to the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday.
MacDonald scored 10 goals and added seven assists in 30 games during regular season play this year.
During the QMJHL playoffs, MacDonald scored four goals and added an assist for five points.
MacDonald is the fourth Saint John Sea Dogs player to be drafted to the Lightning over the years, following Mathieu Joseph, Bokondji Imama, and Maxim Cajkovic.
He also joins teammates Jérémie Poirier, William Villeneuve, Ryan Francis, and William Dufour as current Sea Dogs drafted to the NHL.
