A boat fire in Millidgeville kept Saint John fire crews busy for a bit on Monday evening.
Platoon Chief Josh Hennessy says the blaze broke out at the Royal Kennebecasis Yacht Club on Millidge Avenue.
According to a post from the Saint John Firefighters Association, crews were on the scene shortly after 6 p.m.
“Crews were quick to respond and extinguish the fire on the vessel,” Hennessy said. “Later, the vessel was towed and brought out of the water.”
Hennessy said it was a joint effort also involving the Department of Environment and the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre in Halifax.
There were no reports of any injuries and there is no word yet on what caused the fire.
City fire crews are operating at an incident in the community of Millidgeville, at the RKYC. Please avoid the area. #SJFFs
