A heat warning continues Tuesday and Wednesday for much of southern New Brunswick.
Environment Canada says highs for most areas are forecast to be between 27°C and 30°C.
The high humidity will make it feel much hotter. Humidex values are expected to be between 36 and 39.
Conditions are forecast to be cooler along parts of the Fundy coast.
“Heat warnings are issued when very high temperature or humidity conditions are expected to pose an elevated risk of heat illnesses, such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion,” the national weather agency said in its alert.
Environment Canada encourages people to reduce their heat risk by scheduling outdoor activities during the coolest parts of the day.
Meanwhile, Greater Saint John set a new record high temperature on Monday. It hit 30.2°C at the city’s airport, breaking the old record of 29°C set in 1991.
St. Stephen was the provincial hotspot on Monday at 32°C.
