The hot and humid weather will continue for one more day in New Brunswick.
A heat warning remains in effect for southern and central regions of the province.
Environment Canada says highs could reach 33°C in some areas Tuesday with humidex values between 36 and 41.
“The warmest conditions are expected in areas spanning from St. Stephen and Northern Charlotte County to Moncton and Southeast New Brunswick to Miramichi and Area to Woodstock and Carleton County,” said the national weather agency.
Cooler temperatures are expected in areas along the Fundy coast.
Environment Canada says all regions will turn cooler on Tuesday night.
New record highs were set across New Brunswick on Monday.
Environment Canada says the hot spot in the entire country on Monday was at Kouchibouguac and Bathurst which both reached 35°C.
Readings climbed to 34°C or higher in St. Stephen, Fredericton, Base Gagetown, Caraquet and Miramichi.
No records were set in Saint John, but the temperature reached nearly 30°C at the airport.
