Officials have confirmed COVID-19 cases at two Fredericton-area schools and a possible exposure at a third.
The Anglophone West School District announced Wednesday evening that there are two positive cases at Leo Hayes High School and one at Nashwaaksis Middle School, both located on the city’s north side.
“We are working with Public Health officials to identify any students and school personnel who may have been in contact with the cases,” David McTimoney, superintendent of the school district, said in a letter to parents.
Both schools are closed Thursday for contact tracing. Nashwaaksis Middle is expected to reopen Friday students at Leo Hayes will learn online from home.
The district also announced a possible COVID-19 exposure at New Maryland Elementary School, just outside of Fredericton. The school remains open Thursday.
