Richard Lee has thrown his hat into the ring for council in Saint John’s Ward 1.
Lee says he wants to focus on investing in Saint John’s current resources, like Dominion Park Beach and Fairville Boulevard.
He believes the next council needs to focus on increasing the population and economic development to build a sustainable tax base.
Lee says the city needs to prepare for a long recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, and its council’s job to support residents during the recovery.
After spending the past 10 years at Bobby’s Hospice, Lee is now ‘semi-retired.’ He says he has a proven track record as a volunteer and contributing member of the community, and he wants to bring that to the council horseshoe.
Voters head to the ballot box for the municipal election on May 10.
