Kimberley Hughes has joined the race to become councillor for Ward 4.
Hughes is a long-time east side resident and worked as a legal assistant for 32 years.
She has served on the boards of PRUDE Inc. and Bridgehouse Ministries.
On her campaign’s Facebook page, Hughes listed 20 years of volunteer work with Romero House and street ministry as experience that would help her bring a new set of eyes to council.
Hughes added it’s important to encourage new businesses to come to the city, as well as welcoming new citizens in from different countries.
Voters head to the ballot box in the municipal election on May 10.
