Saint John Transit will resume Sunday bus service starting this weekend.
City manager John Collin announced the transit commission would reinstate the service at Monday’s common council meeting.
The announcement follows $400,000 in funding from the provincial and federal governments to offset losses caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Much of the funding will go towards offsetting the commission’s expected deficit this year. The city had previously directed Saint John Transit with eliminating its outstanding deficit before the end of 2020.
Sunday service will resume on November 15.
