Additional charges laid this week against a volunteer basketball coach has prompted sweeps at schools in Riverview, looking for recording devices.
An email was sent out to parents from the Anglophone East School District.
Thirty-two-year-old Shawn Curtis Nickerson is facing numerous charges, including making and possessing child pornography, making visual recordings of individuals with reasonable expectation of privacy and publishing intimate images.
Several victims have been identified by RCMP, and potential others are being investigated.
The charges stem from incidents alleged to have occurred on various dates between June 2016 and October 2020, involving several identified victims as well as unknown victims.
The email from Superintendent Gregg Ingersoll also confirmed that no recording devices were found, but the district plans to continue looking.
Nickerson is currently in custody and is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing on November 9th.
